Ted Kazakos, candidate for Forsyth County District Court Judge, is an assistant district attorney and life long North Carolinian who is committed to community and family.
Having grown up in Forsyth County, Ted attended local schools including Calvary Baptist Day School and West Forsyth High School. He went on to attend Appalachian State University and earned his law degree from Wake Forest University. Throughout his academic career, Ted remained very active in contributing to and improving his community. While at Appalachian, he was a founding member of the ASU Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, a legal fraternity, and played an integral role in the formation of the school's trial competition program. Ted's field experience included civil work as an intern at Vetro and Lundy, PC and an internship with the Forsyth County District Attorney's Office.
Upon completion of law school, Ted was hired by the Forsyth County DA's office as the designated Domestic Violence prosecutor. During his time as a DV prosecutor he handled cases involving assault, child abuse and protective orders. Ted has experience prosecuting juvenile, driving while impaired, firearms and theft cases. As an assistant district attorney Ted has had the opportunity to handle misdemeanor appeals and felony cases as well as jury trials. He is currently tasked with the screening of habitual domestic violence offenders for felony prosecution. As the designated UIFSA court attorney, Ted also works to enforce child support orders.
Outside of the courthouse Ted is a dedicated husband and father. He and his wife Maria have two children and reside in Lewisville. Maria, who was a teacher at Reagan High School, is currently a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, Triad.
Ted continues to have a strong commitment to bettering his community and serves as a SCAN board member and the National Vice President of the Evrytanian Association of America, a North Carolina based philanthropic organization. Furthermore, he is a Sunday School Teacher, Oratorical Festival Chairman and Bible Bowl coach at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Ted also participates in annual events such as Walk a Mile in Her Shoes and the Athena's Run for Gynecological Cancer.
